Some people may say, how important reading books? In fact, in the current era of technological development, articles from blogs and social media are sufficient to obtain information. Then, why do students still need to read books?

 

First, the importance of reading books is to develop one's literacy. Indirectly, if you have good literacy from books, you will contribute to increasing the average Indonesian literacy. Actually, you can hone this literacy from documentaries, discussions, reading articles, and others. However, it is not complete without reading the book because we only receive material from the outside. As a result, you only understand the outline of the information without really understanding whether it means.

 

Second, Reading book can help you understand the author's ideas. If you read often, you will become familiar with words, sentences, and paragraphs, point of view, or even the author's own background. You can also find out what references and know the author find about a topic. When you dive into information through books, you will have a deeper and critical level to deal with things. So, when doing assignments or learning, you already have literacy and a broad perspective.

Third, by reading will have rich knowledge because the more information and insight you get to perspective on something is also more open, you can understand things from a lot of perspective and also become connected to person when invited to discuss about some topics.

Fourth, you will be increasing vocabulary while reading, in answer question we will face with antonyms, synonyms, and the meaning of a word in the reading text. If you don't have a good vocabulary, you can have a hard time doing these questions. Then, if you will find a lot of new vocabulary that you can use as a reference to convey something clearly and you can convey something by the other ways.

Fifth, while reading a book, you will focus on the reading. Yours learning concentration will increase to be able to absorb information well. The habit of diligently reading books can also make the brain remember things easily, because in the reading process, you are forming new memories and strengthening existing ones.

Sixth, you will also be able to understand the rules of correct writing over time. As a result, this will make it easier for you to write down what you think neatly and clearly.

Seventh, find new ideas or ideas that can develop creative thinking. This creativity can train you to appreciate others with empathy. That's because creative people tend to open up to new things. The creativity gained from reading books is also useful for training you in stories, practice, or writing that easy for everyone to understand.
